gwen_gravenor House: Ravenclaw Age/Year: 15 / 5th Birthdate: September 28th, 1991 Bloodline: Pureblood Heritage: Welsh Personal History: Gwen was born on September 28th, 1991 as a second line of salvation for her parents who wanted children with magical abilities; Morgan, her older sister, was the first. It was because their first child, only son and Gwen’s older brother, Owen, unfortunately was a Squib. He could produce no magic whatsoever and for as long as Gwen could remember, that was always causing a problem in the family. Growing up she realized for herself that Owen should have been treated differently as her parents decided. Later when they would disown him, she voiced no opinion about it but secretly she had agreed with them. It was not to be mistaken with the idea that she did not love her eldest sibling which was untrue but she was always closer with Morgan, since she too possessed magical abilities, was a girl, and they were the closest in age. How else were they supposed to treat him? They could not lie to people about it because it would become very obvious if they had been able to send him to Hogwarts. Owen was the embarrassment of the family as Gwen and her parents saw him, and because of that she would just choose to never speak of him or avoid the subject entirely if it was ever brought up. Besides that little detail, her life had been very simple. Her parents were not the wealthiest of Pureblood families but they certainly had enough money to get by. Her father, Geoffry, worked for the Ministry as a Wizengamot member, and her mother, Tegan, worked at St. Mungo’s. Both of the Gravenor girls certainly gravitated to a specific parent. Morgan became more of their father’s daughter as she was more untamed, and Gwen was their mother’s daughter, whom was the former Slytherin of the family, so she learned all of the things that an elitist daughter would know about social life. Unlike Morgan, Gwen was never really into sports. She did not fancy dirtying herself up as her sister did, and she was more to plan things out than do things on a whim. This would be a key point in the Gravenor sisters’ sibling squabbles most of the time at home when they were younger. Still she was a quiet girl that enjoyed her peace and time for reading. She was interested in just about everything so she would try to learn as much as she could especially once she found out she would be going to Hogwarts following after Morgan. She is also the unique one in the family chosen for a house. Morgan took after Geoffry and had become a Gryffindor, but Gwen fell into the house of Ravenclaw that no one in the family completely expected. It was mainly thought that she would be in Slytherin as her mother though she did not fall too far from the tree. She fit rather nicely in fact. Gwen could mingle and converse with the best of them when she decided to, even though one of her dormmates, Celeste Paddock, seemed much more likely to be friends with Morgan. Her school work was never something that she let slip, and she remained at the top of most of her classes as far as grades went Personality: Though the house of Slytherin may run in her veins, to label Gwen as self-centered, cruel, or materialistic would be a mistake. There are times that she would feel obligated to take charge of a situation and be a little bossy, but she would never willingly belittle another even if they were to be asking for it. By nature she is a very kind soul and she would make herself feel guilty if she ever really hurt someone with something she said or did. As she did grow up in a family that only really had enough rather than anything more than that, Gwen has become comfortable with getting what she can. If she would want something more than she could get, she would rather get it herself instead of someone else getting it for her unless it was say her birthday, or there was just some reasoning of that kind behind it. Still, living life in an upstanding Pureblood family doesn’t come without having some form of elitist qualities. During social events or from around others, of instance, Gwen will become charming and witty to blend with the crowd but really would only speak when spoken to. The girl is fond of her privacy and actually prefers to spend most of her time in solitude. As it comes to family matters, she internally agrees with her parents on the fact that they had disowned her brother Owen. It is quite obvious that he is not as they are so he cannot be treated as a regular member of the family. This does not make her a full elitist, because she can and does get along with Muggleborns and half-bloods, depending on if she can bond with each person as an individual, though she is wise enough to understand that they are different. Gwen could almost be considered the epitomy of what it means to be in Ravenclaw House. There is nothing she enjoys more than thinking for herself, and that she does. If she did not have control of her own mind, she would undoubtly flip out. She can, however, be persuaded sometimes though she is smart enough to catch it when she is being toyed with. Unlike her sister, Morgan, she would want to ensure that everything is planned out before setting off into something unknown. She is not one to take a leap of faith; she would want to have a parchutte and safety net first. Organization, whether something is big or small, is a vitality for her but not an obsession. As far as school work goes, generally she is at the top of most of her classes and is probably always at least in the top ten to finish something first. She does not like to procastinate and would consider it being lazy. Gwen would be the student that finishes her work but still asks for the extra credit, just to make herself feel more secure though she would not need to at all. She does have that Slytherin ambition also. A little planning ahead never hurt anyone; and what is wrong with striving for it when it may be a while longer down the line? As far as relationships go, Gwen is no Dari Davison. She is not even intentionally looking for a boyfriend at the moment. Sure she may have a crush or two but she has no plans to make anything of it, unless he made the first move. If she were to have a relationship now, she would take it slowly and very seriously. There would be no room for error in her eyes on that ideal. Her "partner" would have to prove himself truly worthy before she even considered a kiss, and moving any faster than that would to her would be an automatic indication of how much he would not be ready. Physical Description: Physically, Gwen is just one of those average girls with a weight of 128 lbs and at the height of 5’4”. Her curly locks of hair that just touch her shoulders are so dark brown that they almost look black. The color of her eyes are a fine misty blue shade. Gwen also has a flush skin tone though not albino white that make her pinkish cheeks stand out, most especially when she blushes.
